Parent Communication
Communication with parents is an important part of my role as a speech-language pathologist. When I regularly connect with families it helps us stay on the same page about their child’s progress and needs. Conversations through phone calls, quick check-ins, emails, and/or IEP meetings allow me to share what we are working on in therapy and hear how their child is communicating at home, which often provides valuable insight. I want families to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and celebrating progress. Real progress happens when students are supported across environments, and that can only happen when school and home work together. Building strong, trusting relationships with families makes a meaningful difference in each child’s communication growth.
